SKILLED TRADES EVENT RAISES FUNDS FOR FOOD BANK

Picture
Local students recently completed Explore a Career: Skilled Trades at the Espanola campus of Cambrian College. The six-week program focused on carpentry and welding and gave students the opportunity to develop a variety of skills in construction, woodworking, welding and ornamental metal work. During the construction segment of their training, students built a 10' X 10" shed which was purchased by a local resident. The shed was transported to its new home courtesy of A10 Fabrication. Proceeds from the sale of the shed, totalling $2035 was donated to our food bank.

KIDS THESE DAYS!

Picture
Well, little kids and garage sale donations to the food bank are the going thing these days! Today, 6 year old Chloe (sparking dress) and her 4 year old sister Olivia presented President Susan Kryzanowski with $402.60! The money was raised from a garage sale along with the sale of lemonade and muffins. Parents Joel and Katherine Marion could not be more proud. When asked by their parents who they would like to raise funds for, they said without hesitation "the food bank"! What a wonderful town we live in and what great parents we are seeing instilling great values on their children. Both Joel and Katherine are no strangers to volunteering their time to worthwhile causes like the fire department and Joel has made a huge step in running for our local town council. Bravo to the Marion family!

SMILE CAMPAIGN A HUGE SUCCESS!

Picture
We are celebrating our best year ever for the Smile Cookie Campaign at Tim Hortons!

We're thrilled to announce that we have raised $15,936 .00 thanks to the hard work and effort of our volunteers and the staff at both the McKerrow and Espanola Tim Horton's locations.

We want to thank Denis and Lynn Lefebrve and all of the staff at Tim Horton's for their constant support.

We want to thank the Lion's Club, Tanner's Independent Grocer, and the Espanola RBC for volunteering your time and helping us achieve this milestone.

Most of all, we want to thank all of our volunteers and our over 15,000 cookie loving supporters. Without each and every one of you, we never could have accomplished this amazing feat.
Thank you, from all of us at the Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank for another wonderful year!

"Every year, Denis and Lynn Lefebvre, owners of several Tim Horton franchises host the annual Smile Cookie Campaign with money donated back to the community.

The proceeds from the Espanola and McKerrow outlets go to the Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank and in Blind River they are donated to the North Shore Health Network, for the purchase of medical equipment.

Last year, total sales came in over $20,000 from all three outlets.
