The Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank is now finally set up and is accepting eTransfers from those who would like to make a donation.  Reach us by email at ehhfb87@hotmail.ca. In order for us to send donors an income tax receipt, they will have to include their full name and address in the message box.

If that time is not convenient for individuals or organizations, please contact us and we will do our best to make alternative arrangements.
Of course, we will always accept the donation of NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS such as:

  • Breakfast items: Cereal, Bagged oatmeal or instant packages, peanut butter, jam, apple juice

  • School Lunches: Granola bars (prefer no nuts), pudding cups, applesauce cups, canned fruits (peaches and fruit cocktail), drinking juice boxes, jello

  • Meal items: canned stew, canned chili, canned meats (such as ham or chicken), canned fish (such as tuna or salmon), hamburger helper, taco kits, sidekicks (pasta, rice, or potatoes)

  • Hygiene Items:  toothpaste, toilet paper, bar soap
Our shelves are getting empty of a few items. There are items we distribute on a weekly basis that we need:
  • canned baked beans
  • canned tomatoes
  • hamburger helper
  • canned chili
  • canned stew
  • instant and bagged oatmeal cereal
  • chicken noodle, vegetable and cream of mushroom soup.

We also distribute children's school snacks that consist of:
  • granola bars
  • pudding cups
  • cheese and cracker sticks and juice boxes.

We also supply our clients with basic hygiene products such as toilet paper, bar soap and toothpaste.

Our warehousing person works diligently, always keeping her eyes open for specials and shops accordingly. There are times however when the necessities are not on sale and must be purchased at the regular price. The average grocery order that we disburse each week is valued at $80 to $100, which adds up over the year along with our fixed monthly expenses of approx $1600. This is a huge amount of money that we need every year and we are totally dependent on donations and fund raising.

To those who have donated in the past, thank you for your generosity.
